"43 Views from the Train Window" draws inspiration from the Mycelium theme featured at the 2023 Terrain Biennial. It pays homage to Japan's Ukiyo-e woodblock print series, renowned for depicting pilgrimage routes, leisure travel, and cultural destinations. This project takes viewers beyond Japan's urban centers to document its vast railway network as it traverses across the country. Using the train window as a metaphorical lens, "43 Views" explores the evolving perspectives encountered during a journey. Covering the distance from Kanto to Kyushu and Shikoku to Kansai, this time-based work captures the gradual passage of time and the changing landscape. It depicts the extensive industrialization and transformation of traditional outlying areas from a stationary viewpoint. The exhibition runs from October 2 to November 15.
